Snow Drive

It was very spooky driving east on the Eisenhower at 5am today, trying to stay in the single meandering narrow lane between snow drifts. Coming home at 2pm (video), visibility was much improved and now there were two meandering cleared lanes - separated by a lane of piled up snow. Traffic was light in both directions.

Latrobe

The street where I grew up on the West Side. A vacant lot replaces our house, our neighbors', and a large apartment building. Further down the street, wild greenery abounds.

Sunday, Dusk

It's a bumpy ride chasing the setting sun, weaving around construction workers and lane closures. Couldn't have managed if You Tube hadn't just raised maximum show time from ten to fifteen minutes. Ludwig keeps things moving along.

Gargoyle Ahead

Lexington

Here's a little drive down Lexington Street where my grandparents raised their large family during the twenties, thirties, and forties. Some family history can be found here, and here's a 1930 U.S. Census form completed on Lexington Street.

Expressway at Night

Driving home from work on the Eisenhower.

Under the EL

Driving west on Lake Street under the CTA elevated train. The ride ends at Laramie where I used to get my haircuts when I was a wee lad.
