Danseuses
Alice posted this video, but I wondered what it would look like if they'd had an impressionist painter recording them instead of a video camera. A little applied software gives us a hint:

Latrobe
The street where I grew up on the West Side. A vacant lot replaces our house, our neighbors', and a large apartment building. Further down the street, wild greenery abounds.

Sunday, Dusk
It's a bumpy ride chasing the setting sun, weaving around construction workers and lane closures. Couldn't have managed if You Tube hadn't just raised maximum show time from ten to fifteen minutes. Ludwig keeps things moving along.

Groovy
Reconstruction continues on the Eisenhower Expressway, but going downtown can still be GROOVY if one has the right music.

Gargoyle Ahead
Waiting for the light to change on Congress Parkway. Through the rain, looming up ahead atop the public library, can be seen a huge menacing gargoyle. Are any of us safe?

Ireland 1989
The clan gathered to celebrate my aunt's fifty years in the convent.
Band in the Park
I didn't catch the name of the band and couldn't understand the lyrics. As the video shows, my attention began to wander.
Heading Downtown
A trip downtown on the Lake Street elevated provides an architectural tour including buildings left over from the nineteenth century as well as stuff hot off the drawing board.

Baptism
Here's my first experiment with serendipitizing a slide show:
In Church:
After Church:
Picture quality leaves something to be desired, doesn't match the Flickr slide show.
Update: It's all part of the learning curve. The software I'm using offers a choice between widescreen or 4x3. Since the photos are 4x3, I chose that setting, not realizing the software took that to mean I wanted standard definition. I've reconverted part one and re-uploaded it, and now it can be viewed in high definition. I'm working on doing the same for part two.

Crowds at Taste
Taste of Chicago featured far fewer restaurants this year, but still drew lots of CROWDS. Don't watch this if you're claustrophobic.

Lexington
Here's a little drive down Lexington Street where my grandparents raised their large family during the twenties, thirties, and forties. Some family history can be found here, and here's a 1930 U.S. Census form completed on Lexington Street.

Testing 2: You Tube
Blogging a Flickr video worked out okay. Now to try 'embedding' a You Tube video. Here are five of my mom's seven great grandchildren playing together (more or less) on July 4th.

Testing 1: Flickr
Video: Street Scene, originally uploaded by dtimcarr.
It's been a while since I played around with Blogger. To test things out, I'm blogging a video that I uploaded to Flickr. I shot it last week from the elevated platform at Adams and Wabash while I was headed to Taste of Chicago.
